Section 722.931 - Penalty for filing complaint or cooperating in investigation prohibited; intentional false complaint(1) Subject to subsection (4), an official, the department, a child placing agency, or a residential facility must not penalize any person for filing a complaint or cooperating with the child advocate in investigating a complaint.(2) An individual, the department, an adoption attorney, a child placing agency, or a residential facility must not hinder the lawful actions of the child advocate or his or her employees. (3) A report by the child advocate is not subject to prior approval by a person outside of the office.(4) An individual who intentionally makes a false complaint of child abuse or child neglect under this act is subject to the penalties contained in section 13(5) of the child protection law, MCL 722.633.Amended by 2023, Act 303,s 12, eff. 2/13/2024.Amended by 2004, Act 560, s 11, eff. 1/3/2005.1994, Act 204, Eff. 1/1/1995.
