Section 722.689 - False representation as to age or status as parent or guardian; violation; penalty(1) A person shall not knowingly make a false representation that he or she is the parent or guardian of a minor, or that a minor is 17 years of age or older, with the intent to facilitate the dissemination to the minor of an ultra-violent explicit video game that is harmful to minors. A person knowingly makes a false representation as to the age of a minor or as to the status of being the parent or guardian of a minor if the person either is aware that the representation is false or recklessly disregards a substantial risk that the representation is false.(2) A person who violates subsection (1) is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 93 days or a fine of not more than $15,000.00, or both.Added by 2005, Act 108, s 9, eff. 12/1/2005.
