1.Designation. The Department of Transportation may designate a state or state aid highway as a "through way." The Department of Transportation, after notice, may revoke any such designation. 2.Signs. A through way designation is not effective until suitable warning signs or signals are erected. [1993, c. 683, Pt. A, §2(NEW); 1993, c. 683, Pt. B, §5(AFF).]
3.Intersection. For the purpose of this section, a way joining a through way at an angle, whether or not crossing, is deemed to intersect the through way. [1993, c. 683, Pt. A, §2(NEW); 1993, c. 683, Pt. B, §5(AFF).]
4.Other stop signs. The Department of Transportation or municipal officers may designate an intersection as a stop intersection and erect stop signs at one or more entrances. [1993, c. 683, Pt. A, §2(NEW); 1993, c. 683, Pt. B, §5(AFF).]
5.Yield. The Department of Transportation or municipal officers may erect standard signs requiring operators to yield the right-of-way at certain intersections. A. Yield signs may be designated where it is expedient to allow traffic to move through or into the intersection at a reasonable speed for existing conditions of traffic and visibility, yielding the right-of-way to vehicles or pedestrians approaching from either direction on the intersecting street. A vehicle approaching on a through way so as to arrive at an intersection at approximately the same instant as a vehicle approaching on another way has the right-of-way. [2003, c. 452, Pt.
