Section 4:461 - Discrimination by race in sports tournaments hosted by private clubs prohibited; terms definedA. Any private sports club which hosts a sports tournament shall not discriminate against any eligible team or participant on a team because of his race.B. For purposes of this Section: (1) "Private sports club" means any club, association, organization, or group of any kind which is organized as a private membership club and which provides sports facilities for the use of its members. Such sports facilities may include but are not limited to golf courses, swimming or diving pools, baseball or softball fields, tennis courts, and running tracks.(2) "Sports tournament" means any competition sponsored by, recognized by, or conducted under the authority of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Amateur Athletic Union, or the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women.C. No state monies shall be used to accomplish the discriminatory exclusion of a sports participant whose team has been invited to participate in a sports activity.D.
