Section 4:219 - Uncashed pari-mutuel tickets; limitation of time for presentation; disposition of unclaimed moniesA. All pari-mutuel tickets purchased at offtrack wagering facilities licensed pursuant to this Part evidencing the right to participate in pari-mutuel pools or the right to a refund must be presented for payment within ninety days after the close of the race meeting of the host track. The failure to present such a ticket within the prescribed time shall constitute a waiver of the right to participate in the pari-mutuel pool or the right to a refund. Thereafter, the holder of such ticket shall have no right to enforce payment thereof.B. The sum held by any licensee for payment of outstanding winning pari-mutuel tickets and for refunding the price of pari-mutuel tickets shall be retained by such licensee for such purpose until the expiration of ninety days after the close of the race meeting of the host track.C. After such time, any unclaimed monies shall be disposed of as follows. The primary licensee shall retain such sum so that the sum plus that retained under the provisions of R.S. 4:176(B) do not exceed two hundred fifty thousand dollars per race meeting and the remaining unclaimed monies, if any, shall be remitted to the State General Fund with a report. Such monies are due one hundred days after the close of the race meeting of the host track.Acts 1987, No. 203, §1, eff.
