Section 36:9 - Designation of certain organizational units; uniform terminologyA. All organizational units in the departments of the executive branch of state government shall be designated and named as provided in this Section.B. Each organizational unit which is within an office of a department shall be designated as follows: (1) A subunit of an office shall be designated as a division.(2) A subunit of a division shall be designated as a section.(3) A subunit of a section shall be designated as a unit.C.(1) Each organizational unit which reports to the secretary, which is not an agency and is not within an office, shall be in the executive office of the secretary and shall be designated as follows: (a) A unit which reports directly to the secretary shall be designated as a bureau.(b) A subunit of a bureau shall be designated as a section.(c) A subunit of a section shall be designated as a unit.(2) For the Department of Children and Family Services, each organizational unit which reports to the secretary, which is not an agency and is not within the division of management and finance, the division of child welfare, or the division of family support, shall be in the executive division, and shall be designated as follows: (a) A unit which reports directly to the secretary shall be designated as a bureau.(b) A subunit of a bureau shall be designated as a section.(c) A subunit of a section shall be designated as a unit.D. The officers of each department shall be responsible for implementation of this Section and shall report to the speaker of the House of Representatives and the president of the Senate the completion of such implementation and the changes in designation of organizational units made as provided in this Section.Acts 1987, No. 736, §1; Acts 2010, No. 877, §1, eff.
