Section 14:97.1 - Solicitation on an interstate highway or in a public right-of-wayA. Solicitation on an interstate highway or in a public right-of-way is the intentional act of soliciting, begging, panhandling, or otherwise requesting anything of value on any interstate highway, public right-of-way, or any entrance or exit ramp of an interstate highway. B. Whoever commits the crime of solicitation on an interstate highway shall be fined not more than two hundred dollars, or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.C. For the purposes of this Section, "anything of value" means cash, currency, coin, or any other financial instrument given to a person not exempted by R.S. 32:218.
