Section 11:3233 - Separation from serviceA. In the event a member of the fire department becomes separated from the service of said fire department before being eligible for benefits under this fund after September 7, 1990, his salary deductions shall be returned to him within ninety days of his request to return said salary deductions. A member of the fire department separated from service of the fire department before September 7, 1990, shall not have his salary deductions returned to him.B. In the event a member of the fire department shall be laid off, voluntarily or involuntarily, for any cause for a period not exceeding ninety days, he shall continue during said layoff periods to be entitled to the benefits of this Part.C. If any member or members of the fire department shall be discharged from the service for reasons of economy or reduction in the force due to no fault of said member and later shall be reemployed by the fire department, his rights to the privileges and benefits of this Part shall continue as from the date he was discharged without any loss of rights and privileges due to such period of absence from the service, but time lost under these conditions shall not count as time served on said fire department.La.
