§ 141a. Composition

The Permanent Joint Committee for the Review and Reform of the Puerto Rico Civil Code, hereinafter “the Committee”, shall be composed of seven (7) Senators designated by the President of the Senate, one of whom shall be the Chairperson of the Civil Judiciary Committee of the Senate, and seven (7) representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House, one of whom shall be the Chairperson of the Civil Judiciary Committee of the House.

Any vacancy that arises in the Committee will not affect its duties and powers and shall be filled by a legislator of the Legislative Body causing said vacancy, who shall be appointed in the same manner as the replaced member.

Minorities shall be represented in this Committee.

The Committee shall be co-chaired by the Chairpersons of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Civil Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives.
