§ 1054ee. Extension

In exercising its regulatory duties and technical knowledge in the energy field, the Commission may extend the five (5)-year period provided in this chapter for a term that shall not exceed one (1) year, so that at least sixty percent (60%) of the electric power generated in Puerto Rico based on fossil fuels is high efficiency; provided, that the Commission determines:

(1) That it is necessary for the full implementation of the Energy RELIEF Plan, and

(2) that the implementation of the Energy RELIEF Plan is at an advanced stage.
