The buildings in which the shelters will be housed must be located in nonfloodable areas with appropriate drainage and ventilation. They must also be adequately protected against fire hazards. Said installations shall have separate areas to lodge sick and unwanted animals, so that those healthy animals that are up for adoption are not contaminated.
