The Academic Medical Centers shall be attached to a Central Board of Regional Medical Centers to be constituted by the Secretary of Health or his/her representative, the President of the Council on Higher Education or his/her representative, a representative of the Hospitals Association, a representative of the Board of Medical Examiners, a representative of the Puerto Rico College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Deans of the Schools of Medicine. The Board is hereby authorized to approve regulations to govern the functions herein delegated and once the same have been approved, all academic medical centers shall be bound to comply with the provisions thereof.
Said Board shall be responsible for revising and approving the work plans that every academic medical center shall be bound to prepare annually. Said plan shall include the work to be done, the personnel available to carry out such work, the source of the funds to defray the activities and a report indicating whether the academic medical center has been sued for alleged medical malpractice during the preceding year.
