Nothing stated in this chapter shall apply to establishments devoted exclusively to selling at wholesale and in the original containers of the manufacturer; or to patent or proprietary medicine factories; or to stores or commercial houses which are not strictly drugstores or pharmacies but which dispatch poisonous substances for industrial or agricultural purposes, in the manufacturer’s original containers, duly sealed and labeled; or to practicing physicians, surgeons, dentists, and veterinarians, when they furnish drugs to their patients in the manner required by the practice of their respective professions.
