Before the seller delivers any poisonous substance to the purchaser, he shall make an entry in a book that he shall keep expressly for that purpose, in which he shall note the date of the sale, the name and residence of the purchaser, the name and amount of the poison sold, and the purpose or object for which it was purchased.
This book shall have pages perfectly arranged and numbered correlatively. If any error in writing is to be corrected therein, said correction shall not be made by erasing or scratching out what is written, but by crossing it out with red ink and writing, immediately beside it, the correct note or phrase. The writing shall be done by hand and in ink, or with an indelible pencil; in no case shall a crayon, a lead pencil, or a pencil of any other kind be used. The notations shall be made in clear and legible writing.
The book shall be kept for two (2) years after the last entry is made; and it shall be kept in a safe and accessible place so that it may be inspected at any time by the proper authorities.
