Druggists and pharmacy aides duly authorized by law may dispense narcotic drugs to any person on an order or prescription written by a physician, dentist, or veterinarian. In every prescription, such practitioners shall state the date on which issued, the name and address of the patient, the signature of the physician, dentist, or veterinarian, and the registry number of the license entitling him to prescribe narcotics. No order for narcotic drugs shall be filled after the lapse of two (2) days from the date on which issued. When the prescription is to be used on an animal it shall then express the name and address of the owner or person in charge of the animal and the kind of animal.
Upon filling the order the druggist or pharmacy aide shall sign same and shall write thereon the date on which filled. The person filling the order shall label the container holding the dispensed drug. Said label shall express:
(1) Date on which filled.
(2) Name of the drugstore where filled and license number.
(3) Name and address of the patient.
(4) Name of the practitioner.
