§ 757. Jurisdiction of Court of First Instance

The Court of First Instance of Puerto Rico shall have exclusive original jurisdiction to entertain cases for violation of the provisions of this chapter and its regulations and impose penalties. It shall also take cognizance of petitions for proceedings to seize and condemn which shall have priority in the court calendars and the hearing shall not be held later than ten (10) days after notification to the owner of the article or poultry object of the action. In these cases the court shall enter judgment or order within ten (10) days after the hearing of which notice shall be likewise served on the owner or representative, or his attorney, if any intervened. A petition to review said judgment or order of the court may be filed, by certiorari, in the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, within ten (10) days after notice of judgment or order, provided bond has been posted to the satisfaction of the lower court. If no certiorari is filed within the period fixed therefor, the order of the lower court shall become final and unappealable.
