§ 2868. Summoning of witnesses or interested parties

The summons issued by the Board for the appearance of witnesses or interested parties, pursuant to the provisions of subsection (m) of § 2853 of this title, shall bear its official seal and shall be sent by certified mail.

If any individual who is summoned to appear before the Board, or any of its members, refuses to obey such summons or, although he obeys the summons, refuses to take an oath, give testimony, answer any question or bring any relevant document when ordered to do so by the Board, it may invoke the assistance of any Part of the Court of First Instance of Puerto Rico, and said court, for proven just cause, shall issue an order to the effect that the order issued by the Board be complied with. Any disobedience of the court’s order shall constitute contempt of court and shall be punished as such.
