§ 2822. Penalties

After one (1) year from the effective date of this act, any person who violates any provision of this chapter, or engages in the practice as operator without having previously obtained a license to do so, or who continues practicing as an operator after his license has been suspended or revoked, or who employs or allows the employment of a person to work as an operator knowing that said person does not hold a license to do so, or that his license has been revoked or suspended shall incur a misdemeanor. After conviction, said person shall be sentenced by imprisonment not to exceed six (6) months or by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500), or by both penalties, [at] the discretion of the court.
