§ 2516. Prohibited activities

The persons licensed in naturopathy shall not:

(a) Practice, claim, or allege that they practice the medical profession or naturopathic medicine and/or in any way claim and/or advertise as a physician.

(b) Prescribe, dispense or administer medication and/or drugs that require medical prescription.

(c) Order, induce or suggest to any patient that he/she discontinue treatments prescribed by any physician.

(d) Conduct surgical procedures or any other invasive treatment.

(e) Conduct, refer, interpret or order laboratory tests.

(f) Attend medical emergencies in his/her office that require specialized equipment and personnel. However, he/she may attend an emergency, if he/she has taken and is up to date in first aid courses and training or paramedic science and no specialized equipment and personnel is required.

(g) Shall not sell or distribute naturopathic products in his/her office where services are rendered.

(h) Conduct physical examinations or that require undressing the patient in order to seek, touch, or manipulate his/her genitals and/or breasts and/or anal or rectal area.

(i) Use bodily fluids or exudates, or any other liquid or substance excretory by the excretion organs of the human body or of animals, for consumption, drinking or application with medicinal or therapeutic purposes.
