The licenses or certifications issued by the Board shall be renewed every four (4) years, from their date of issue.
The licenses issued by the Board prior to the effectiveness of this act must be likewise renewed every four (4) years. The Board shall determine through regulations the mechanisms to be established to carry out renewals in sequence.
In order for the renewal to be authorized, the licensed or certified appraiser shall satisfy the requirement of continued education in any of the following manners:
(a) He/she must meet the requirements in effect provided by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB).
(b) The Board shall further establish through regulations and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board of the Appraisal Foundation the qualifications of the continued education programs that the licensed and certified appraiser must satisfy.
(c) It shall be understood as continued education credits the participation in other activities such as appraisal processes and programs, development of programs, writing of a textbook or similar activities that are determined to be equal to obtaining continued education.
