§ 8006f. Environmental Quality Board—Delegation

The Environmental Quality Board shall further compliance with the public policy set forth in this chapter through its rulemaking authority, through the granting of permits, certificates, authorizations and/or endorsements, and through its oversight powers conferred under Subchapter II of this chapter and the regulations adopted thereunder.

The Solid Waste Authority may delegate onto the Environmental Quality Board any other power as necessary for the effective enforcement of this subchapter or any regulatory provision adopted thereunder.

None of the provisions of this chapter may be understood to limit the power of the Environmental Quality Board to impose measures as necessary, including the issue of orders and the imposition of sanctions, to discharge its overseeing functions as pertains to environmental issues in Puerto Rico.
