§ 8004c. Commonwealth Commission—Duties and responsibilities

(a) The Commonwealth Commission shall be in charge of implementing the provisions of Title III of the Superfund Amendment and Reauthorization Act, better known as the “Emergency Response Planning and Communities Right-to-Know Act”, within the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

(b) Environmental emergency responses shall be planned taking into account the provisions of this chapter, and most particularly, the powers and authority delegated onto the Environmental Quality Board.

(c) The Commonwealth Commission is hereby empowered, among other things, to create and organize the Local Environmental Emergency Response Planning Committees in coordination with municipalities.
