§ 8536. Board of directors

The members of each community board shall annually elect a board of directors to direct their works and which shall consist of at least a chairperson, a vice president and a secretary. The board of directors shall meet whenever deemed necessary or required to exercise its duties, or at least once every two (2) months and shall keep minutes of its meetings. Said minutes shall constitute public documents and shall be kept properly organized. The community board, through the chairperson of the board of directors, shall submit an annual written report to the Legislature and the Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in which the steps taken in order to comply with its duties and exercise the powers imposed by § 8532 of this title and the result thereof shall stated.

The members of the community board shall be entitled to the payment of per diems and to reimbursement of necessary expenses incurred in the performance of the duties imposed by this chapter, pursuant and subject to the uniform regulations that to such effects are adopted by the heads of agencies and to those regulations set forth by the Department of the Treasury that are applicable to it.
