§ 1632d. Rules to govern the operations of the Internship Program

Not later than sixty (60) days after the approval of this act, the Office of Youth Affairs shall incorporate rules that shall govern the Internship Program operations into the regulations of the Juvempleo Program. The same shall provide all the rules and procedures necessary for their adequate implementation. In particular, intern selection criteria shall be provided, taking into consideration, among others, the student’s academic preparation, grades, experience, major, and significant community service. The established procedures shall ensure an objective and impartial selection of Program participants. The regulations shall also include all that pertains to the payment of stipends, the pertinent procedures for the validation of Program participation as university credits, program duration, maximum number of interns to be selected, and any other matter that the Executive Director of the Office of Youth Affairs deems convenient.
