§ 1632b-1. Internship Programs

Internship Programs are geared towards offering young students an educational experience that is not circumscribed to formal classroom learning. Through these programs, students shall receive professional experience in positions whose duties are related to the various areas of the Executive Branch, as well as in formulating and implementing public policy and economic development.

These programs are expected to provide students with a better understanding of how the Government works. Direct contact with public servants at various levels and from different backgrounds seeks to promote the sharing of knowledge, interests, and experiences that may be applicable to their professional life. These Internship Programs shall be created by law or by Executive Order.

(a) Internship Programs shall be attached to the Office of Youth Affairs, and shall be administered and directed by its Executive Director, except for those attached to another agency by law or Executive Order.
