The regular officers and employees within the competitive service who pass to render services in accordance with the provisions of §§ 66—66j of this title shall be entitled, upon termination of their services, to be reinstated to the office they held on the date they passed to render said service, or to a position of like category. For the purpose of determining what shall constitute “a position of like category”, the following factors shall be considered: the hierarchy, the salary, the nature of the functions, and the general conditions of the work. The reinstatement shall be requested not later than within the sixty (60) days following the date in which the interested person ceases in the discharge of his functions under the provisions of §§ 66—66j of this title.
