§ 1169. Travel agency

Any steps taken for the booking and purchase of air transportation tickets for public servants who, as such, undertake an official trip from Puerto Rico, or any type of trip paid with public funds, must be made through any “Puerto Rico travel agency” as the term is defined in §§ 1001 et seq. of Title 27, and known as the “Puerto Rico Public Service Commission Act”, unless:

(a) The ticket is purchased outside of Puerto Rico.

(b) The ticket is a contribution from the airline to the Tourism Company, for promotional purposes.

(c) An Internet offer, taking into consideration the flexibility of said fees and the penalties in case of changes is more than ten percent (10%) less than the ticket offered by the travel agent.

(d) Convention and event offers are not available through Puerto Rico travel agents.
