As soon as it has studied the invention or discovery and decided that the former merits to be patented and the latter to be registered, the Committee shall notify the inventor or discoverer so that they may, as soon as possible, prepare the statements, the corresponding documents and the necessary diagrams and details to be remitted to the patents consultant contracted by the Industrial Development Company so the latter may study the case and file the necessary documents with the United States Patent Office in Washington, D.C.
In case the inventor or the discoverer requests technical assistance from the Committee to prepare all the documents needed to patent the invention or to register the discovery, the Committee may employ for this purpose the services of the employees of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, its agencies, instrumentalities and public corporations, or may provide that the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company defray all expenses needed to assist the inventor or discoverer for up to the maximum permitted by law, in preparing said documents as part of the assistance to be provided to patent the inventions or register the discovery.
