The Committee shall be entrusted with implementing the public policy established herein. The personnel required for this purpose shall be made available to the Committee. The funds needed for the additional duties assigned to the Committee shall be set aside in the Budget of Expenditures of La Fortaleza.
In implementing this chapter, the Committee shall give special attention to the restoration, preservation and maintenance of the buildings, structures, land and furniture under its responsibility, pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
The Assistant shall keep a perpetual inventory of all public property under his custody in the proper books for said purposes. Every year, in the month of June, the Assistant shall take a complete inventory of said properties under the direction of the Committee, which shall include the cost and date of acquisition and their appraised value, if donated; a description of their condition and photographs thereof, and in the case of furniture, the place where they are located.
The annual inventory shall be submitted for the Governor’s approval and filed in the Offices of the Executive Assistant and the Committee for future reference.
The Assistant shall issue certificates regarding the value of the real or personal property acquired or accepted as donations to the interested parties, with the Committee’s authorization, according to the appraisals and procedures established by the Department of the Treasury of Puerto Rico.
The Committee shall adopt standards and bylaws for its internal functioning.
