§ 319a. Puerto Rico Labor Development Bureau

The Puerto Rico Labor Development Bureau, under the direction and supervision of the Secretary of Labor and Human Resources, shall be in charge of the administration and use of the Work Opportunities Development Fund, consistent with the applicable directive norms of the Legislation and its regulations.

Pursuant to Act No. 59 of August 9, 1991 and §§ 701 et seq. of Title 29, known as the “Employment Security Act”, in order to set aside a special contribution of up to one percent (1%) for the creation of the Special fund, for the creation of employment opportunities for unemployed workers, an increase in employment stability and employee productivity and any like pertinent matter shall be fostered by the means authorized by law.
