The position of [Solicitor General] of Puerto Rico is hereby created, to be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate and to serve at the discretion of the Governor. The person appointed to hold this position shall be an attorney admitted into the practice of the legal profession by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, with not less than six (6) years of professional experience, of proven moral standing and renowned capability. The [Solicitor General] shall earn a salary equal to that of a Judge of the Court of Appeals.
