P.R. Laws tit. 3, § 9003
The membership of the Association shall include all the categories stated below:
(1) Insured members.— This category shall include employees who, in addition to contributing to the savings and loan fund, are admitted by the Association to the life and insured years of service insurance.
(2) Uninsurable members.— This category shall include employees who contribute to the savings and loan fund and have not been admitted to the life and insured years of service insurance.
(3) Depositor members.— This category shall include employees who contribute to the savings and loan fund and have not applied for enrollment in the life and insured years of service insurance.
(4) Former employees with life insurance coverage.— This category shall include insured employees who choose, upon definite separation from service from any government entity –at their request– to continue life insurance.
(5) Covered depositor pensioned members.— This category shall include retired members with life insurance coverage who contribute to the savings and loan fund.
(6) Depositor pensioned members.— This category shall include all retired members who contribute to the savings and loan fund, but do not have life insurance coverage.
(7) Covered pensioned members.— This category shall include all former employees with life insurance coverage who are receiving a pension from any of the public employees retirement systems, to wit: the Administration of the Employees Retirement System of the Government and the Judiciary, the Retirement System of the Employees of the Electric Power Authority, the Teacher’s Retirement System, the Retirement System of the Employees of the University of Puerto Rico, and any other current or future public employee retirement system; who do not contribute to the savings and loan fund. This category does not include employees who retire from the Association.
Employees and former employees who retire from the Association shall not be members or have representation in the Assembly of Delegates, but may avail themselves of the services and benefits of the Association, as applicable.
