§ 4698. Sentencing

When the court imposes the punishment of imprisonment or a punishment that entails some type of restriction of freedom, or the suspension of a license, permit or authorization, the sentence pronounced shall be of a specific duration to be selected within the interval of imprisonment years established by law for the crime.

Within the limitations established by this Code for the crime, the punishment shall be imposed according to the greater or lesser degree of the criminal act taking into consideration the aggravating or mitigating circumstances.
