§ 4487. Acts of agent after death of principal or other termination of agency

What has been done by the agent, when he was not aware of the death of the principal, or of any other of the causes which terminate the agency, shall be valid and of effect with regard to third persons who may have contracted with the agent in good faith.

In regard to any contract made by an agent under the circumstances referred to in the preceding paragraph, or compliance with which should be required of the principal or his heirs, posterior to any of the causes which extinguish the agency, authentic documentary evidence shall be filed, and should this not exist, the contract must be satisfactorily proved.
