§ 976l. Penalties

(a) Every person who, on and after the approval of this act, engages in the application of economic poisons to lands, buildings, structures, and properties for profit in Puerto Rico, who is not authorized therefor by the Secretary, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) for the first offense; and each subsequent offense shall be punished by a fine of not less than two hundred dollars ($200) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000).

(b) Every person authorized by the Secretary to engage in the commercial application of economic poisons, who violates any of the provisions of this chapter or of any regulation hereunder, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) for the first offense; and for each subsequent offense, he shall be punished by a fine of not less than three hundred dollars ($300) nor more than two thousand dollars ($2,000), and/or by the suspension of the license.
