§ 216. Use of funds for repairs by government agencies—Limitations

The expenses and obligations incurred for carrying out the repairs mentioned in § 215 of this title shall in no case exceed the balance of the available appropriations for the rent of buildings and premises during any fiscal year.

The officers and employees who authorize these repairs shall ascertain that the buildings or premises so repaired are to be retained under lease for a period of time sufficient to recover from the lessors the cost of said repairs.
