P.R. Laws tit. 17, § 1514
While the participant is making contributions to his/her account, the assets deposited in the individual savings and development accounts, including any interest generated thereby, shall not be considered for the purposes of any federal, state, local assistance or social welfare program that requires consideration of the financial situation of the participant. This includes, but is not limited to Nutritional Assistance Program, (PAN, Spanish acronym), the Temporary Aid for Needy Families Program and the Public Housing Program of the Public Housing Administration attached to the Department of Housing of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or any other local or federal social welfare program and the benefits provided by the Health Reform.
