§ 27ii. Creation of a special registry

The Central Personnel Administration Office is hereby directed to create a special registry of preference, by classification, of the employees affected by the closing of the Office, who held permanent positions at the time it was dissolved.

Said registry shall be circulated among the departments, agencies, instrumentalities, public corporations and municipalities of the Government of Puerto Rico, so that said employees may be placed in vacant permanent positions that existed or may arise in equal or similar classification to those they previously held, with preference, without being subject to that established in subsection 9 of Section 4.3 of Act October 14, 1975, No. 5, known as the “Puerto Rico Public Service Personnel Act”, or any other law or regulation that establishes competitive selection processes.

In order to enforce the right to preference granted herein, the Governor shall appoint a Relocation Coordinator, attached to the Central Personnel Administration Office. The Relocation Coordinator, with the approval of the Governor, shall establish the norms for referral and selection of the candidates to the different government bodies, in a term not to exceed six (6) months.
