§ 1289. Legal investment

The Government of Puerto Rico and all the agencies, municipalities, public corporations and other public instrumentalities or political subdivisions of the Government of Puerto Rico, empowered by law to invest their funds, are hereby authorized to invest in any securities, instruments, certificates, stocks, shares and other evidence of participation in investments issued by any public funds investment trust created pursuant to this chapter, regardless of the existence of any restrictions on investments contained in their organic acts and other laws.

The investment by government entities in any of the trusts created pursuant to this chapter shall be voluntary.
