§ 1262. Investments limited to those allowed in the guidelines

The public funds of the Government of Puerto Rico and of all the agencies, municipalities, public corporations and other public dependencies or political subdivisions of the Government of Puerto Rico may only be invested in the investments, securities or transactions allowed in the guidelines promulgated by the Governor or his authorized agent pursuant to this chapter. Nevertheless, the provisions of this chapter shall not diminish, nor be construed so as to affect the obligations contracted through contracts, agreements, trust deeds or any other sources of obligations, prior to the effective date of this act, by the Government of Puerto Rico or any of its agencies, municipalities, public corporations or public dependencies or political subdivisions of the Government of Puerto Rico. The contractual obligations established prior to the effectiveness of this chapter shall be ruled by the terms stipulated in the corresponding agreement between the parties.
