(a) May 16 of each year is hereby declared as the “Hereditary Angioedema Awareness Day”.
(b) The Secretary of Health, in coordination with the Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, shall issue a proclamation to raise awareness among the people of Puerto Rico of the existence of said medical condition and to educate them on said condition, within at least ten (10) days prior to May 16 of each year.
(c) The Secretary of Health, in coordination with the Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as the bodies, public entities, and the municipalities of Puerto Rico shall adopt the necessary measures for the attainment of the objectives of this section by organizing and holding activities to observe and promote the Hereditary Angioedema Awareness Day, created under this section. Furthermore, the importance of raising greater awareness of Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) among physicians and other health professionals and the general public shall be promoted. The participation of the citizenry and private entities in the activities programmed for said day shall also be encouraged.
(d) A copy of the Annual Proclamation shall be distributed to the news media for the broadcasting thereof.
