(a) The month of November of each year is hereby declared as “Domestic Violence Prevention Month”.
(b) The Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall, by proclamation thereto, annually exhort the Puerto Rican people to become aware and carry out acts geared toward domestic violence eradication, particularly during the proclaimed month.
(c) The Office of the Women’s Advocate, with the collaboration of the Department of the Family, the Department of Health, the Department of Education, the Department of Justice, the Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation, and the Puerto Rico Police, as well as other organisms and public or quasi public entities, and the municipalities of Puerto Rico, must adopt the necessary measures to fulfill the objectives set forth in this section, through the organization and presentation of activities to celebrate the Month Against Domestic Violence.
The Office of the Women’s Advocate has the responsibility to direct and coordinate, in an integrated manner, all government efforts geared toward the achievement of the purposes of this section.
(d) Copy of the annual Proclamation shall be distributed to the media of the country for its disclosure.
