Whenever by virtue of the provisions of this chapter or its regulations a court suspends or revokes the license of a person authorized to drive a motor vehicle, the judge shall seize the license of the driver involved and the clerk of the sentencing court shall forward the same to the Secretary together with a certified copy of the sentence clearly indicating the terms of the suspension or revocation as well as the driver’s license and Social Security numbers and any other personal data deemed pertinent by the Secretary.
Within ten (10) days after the sentence has been rendered against any person convicted of violating the provisions of this chapter and its regulations, the clerk of the sentencing court shall be duty bound to serve notice thereof to the Secretary.
