When a law enforcement officer intervenes with a person for having violated the provisions of this chapter, he/she must do so in a professional and diligent manner so as to guarantee his/her own safety and that of the persons intervened. Any law enforcement officer who violates this provision or who abuses his/her power shall incur a misdemeanor and if convicted, shall be punished with a fine of one hundred dollars ($100), without prejudice to any administrative sanctions that may be imposed.
