The Secretary of State may grant an extension which shall not exceed ninety (90) days from the term fixed for filing annual reports by domestic and foreign corporations doing business in Puerto Rico; provided it is determined upon application filed on time over the Internet or by filing a written application to the Department of State when the applying entity does not have access to the Internet, that the corporation shall not be able, for sufficient motives, to file its annual report on the date fixed by law. In the event that the annual report of any corporation which has been granted an extension was not filed within the additional term granted, the procedure prescribed by § 3852 or § 3854, both of this title, shall apply, as the case may be.
