(a) The Court of First Instance shall sit throughout the year, from Monday to Friday, both inclusive, except on legal holidays. Whenever necessary because of the nature of the matter, the Court may sit on any Saturday which is not a legal holiday when so ordered by the corresponding Administrative Judge, with the authorization of the Administrative Director of the Courts.
(b) The Court shall sit regularly from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless the presiding judge deems it necessary to sit for a longer period. Only when required by special circumstances, which shall be set forth in detail by order of the presiding judge in the minutes of the Court, may the presiding judge sit for a shorter period, even though he may not have finished the work scheduled for that day, of which he shall immediately inform the Administrative Judge.
(c) When the judge has finished the work previously scheduled for that day, or the condition of the work so permits, he shall notify the Administrative Judge thereof, and the latter may then assign to him any other matters during session hours.
(d) The working hours from Monday to Friday of each week of all the personnel of the court, of the municipal judges and the justices of the peace and their personnel shall be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. unless the nature of said work shall require additional hours or extra days of work or a special working schedule. The Administrative Director of the Courts, with the approval of the Chief Justice, may change this schedule.
(e) The offices of the clerks and marshals shall remain open every day during working hours, except on Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. By special order of the corresponding Administrative Judge, with the authorization of the Administrative Director of the Courts, or at the latter’s order, with the approval of the Chief Justice, it may be provided that they stay open on any Saturday.
(f) When at the discretion of the Chief Justice the necessities of public service shall require it, he may set other hours for sessions, including night sessions for special purposes on any day of the week.
