§ 1610. Penalties

Any person who violates the provisions of §§ 1601 et seq. of this title or the regulations promulgated by virtue thereof, shall incur a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be punished with a fine that shall not exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000) or a term of imprisonment that shall not exceed one year, or both penalties at the discretion of the court. In the case of recurrence the established penalty shall be increased to a maximum of five thousand dollars ($5,000) or a term of imprisonment that shall not exceed three (3) years, or both penalties at the discretion of the court.
