The sum of five million five hundred two thousand dollars ($5,502,000) is hereby appropriated from unencumbered funds in the Commonwealth Treasury to the Department of Agriculture for the following purposes:
A— Agricultural Practices 1—Development of livestock and aviculture $2,725,000 2—Development of the tobacco industry 850,000 3—Marketing of farm products, including the price guarantee program 500,000 4—Promotion of the production of foodstuff 225,000 5—Promotion of commercial fishing 70,000 6—Aid in cases of small disasters 25,000 7—Aid to farmers for the payment of premiums to be paid to the State Insurance Fund, as provided in Act No. 23 of 1970 630,000 B—Acquisitions or Capital Improvements 1—Control of floods in hydrographic watersheds $206,000 2—To continue the program of development of fishing ports 175,000 3—Acquisition of lands for forest 96,000
In subsequent years the Governor shall recommend to the Legislature the amounts that may be necessary to comply with the purposes of this chapter.
