§ 644. Certain veterinary practices—Use of trained personnel

The heads of departments and agencies of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico are hereby authorized, whenever they are unable to obtain from the Office of Personnel or through any other legal source the services of the necessary veterinary physicians for the development of the government programs, to use duly trained personnel to perform, under the supervision of an authorized veterinarian, the following veterinary practices:

(1) To take samples of blood and milk to determine the presence of brucellosis in cattle.

(2) To take samples of milk to determine the presence of mastitis in cattle.

(3) To take samples of excretion, urine and saliva.

(4) Vaccination against rabies.

(5) Castration of swine.
