Section 40-2,232 - Purpose of act(a) The purpose of this act is to promote the public welfare by establishing a comprehensive legal framework within which travel insurance may be sold.(b) The requirements of this act shall apply to travel insurance that covers any resident of this state, that is sold, solicited, negotiated or offered in this state and policies and certificates that are delivered or issued for delivery in this state. This act shall not apply to cancellation fee waivers or travel assistance services except as expressly provided in this act.(c) All other applicable provisions of the insurance laws of this state shall apply to travel insurance except that the specific provisions of this act shall supersede any general provisions of law that would otherwise be applicable to travel insurance.Added by L. 2023, ch. 42,§ 2, eff. 1/1/2024.
